William “Bill” Dean Fay, age 78, of Presque Isle, passed away Monday evening March 4, 2024, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
The son of Clifford and Alyce (Bilsland) Fay was born in Sheldon, Iowa on August 15, 1945. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army.
Bill spent the majority of his life working, after retiring he moved to Presque Isle in 2005. Very much enjoying his last 20 years in Northern Michigan being involved in the community and making new friends. Bill enjoyed bowling, cards of all kinds, casinos, and writing poetry. He was the treasurer of the Presque Isle Community Men’s Club, on the Zoning Board of Appeals, worked for the township during voting, and was past President of the Presque Isle Harbor Bowling League.
Surviving is a brother Dennis, a sister Sharon (Ken) Alexander; 4 nephews Brad, Jody, Brian, and Jon and a niece Sonia; many great nephews and nieces; also great-great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew.
Visitation will be held on Sunday March 10, 2024, at Grand Lake Chapel at 2:30 PM with a memorial service at 3:00 PM. Online condolences may be made to hentkowskifuneral.com.
