Mark Lee Bixby

               Mark Lee Bixby, 59, of Rogers City passed away Monday, December 25, 2023, at his home.

            He was born on March 24, 1964, to Patricia Carroll in Detroit, he was raised in the Owosso area by his mom and his dad Chic Bixby.  In 2014 he was united with his biological father Wayne Strong.  After getting his GED, he went to Baker College to further his education, where he met Sara Strzelecki in 1998.  Together making their home in Tennessee until moving to Rogers City in 2001.  They were married on February 6, 2004, in Gallatin Tennessee.

            Mark was known to most as “Big Papa”.  The most rewarding and biggest fulfillment in his lifetime was being a dad to Cejay. It made his heart full to be able to spend time watching sporting events, laughing, joking, and being with his sidekick and buddy.  He was a very casual person and loved the relaxing things in life.  He would fish as much as possible from crappies in Lake Nettie to salmon on Lake Huron.  He enjoyed hot rods, building motors, and being with his friends at “the woods”.

            Surviving is his wife Sara, and son Cejay (Jenny Guenterberg) Bixby; mom and stepdad Patricia (John) Wilson; step brothers Mike Bixby, John (Shelby) Wilson Jr., Matthew (Shannon) Wilson, Duane Strong, and Michael Strong; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Rich and Beth Strzelecki; several nieces and nephews.

            He was preceded in death by his dad Chic Bixby in 2023, and his biological father Wayne Strong in 2015.    

            Visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Hentkowski Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until the noon Service.  Following the service, we will continue to St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery in Posen for his burial, and lunch at St. Casimir School.  Online condolences may be sent to hentkowskifuneral.com.
