Margaret Mary Nielsen

The lovely and kind soul of Margaret Mary Nielsen, age 90, passed away from this earth on July 29, 2023, at her daughter's home in Alpena.

The daughter of Harry and Lois (Wilcox) Cumming was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin on November 11, 1932.  She graduated from Muskegon high school in 1951 and was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Thomas Nielsen on September 1, 1951.  Together they raised a family and were able to celebrate 70 years of marriage.

Her husband Thomas preceded her in death on October 3, 2021.

Surviving are three children, all of whom gave her loving tender care while she lived the last weeks and months of her life; Timothy (Nola) Nielsen, Daniel (Lyn) Nielsen, Bonnie (James) Bartz; six precious and much-loved grandchildren Bjorn Nielsen, Anneke (Jerika) Nielsen, Jonathan Nielsen, Lucas Nielsen, William (Beth Stoltenberg) Bartz, and Emily Bartz; three great-grandchildren Kavik, Ronan, and Saylor Nielsen; and a brother Erving (Alberta) Cumming.

Margaret's arrangements are in the care of Hentkowski Funeral Home.  A private family gathering will take place at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Michigan, Alpena County Democratic Party, or Charity of Friends Choice.
