Alice Anna Mae Wirgau

           Alice Anna Mae Wirgau, 92, of Rogers City passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Gaylord.

            She was born on April 17, 1931, in Wellington Township, Alpena to Dorothy Dove.  She married Franklin (Ben) Wirgau in Leer.

Anna Mae happily was a homemaker and wife of a farmer.  She was an avid bowler spending many an hour at Nautical Lanes with her mother Dorothy, granddaughter Alicia, and many friends she made there over the years.  

            Anna Mae is survived by her three children Carl (Ruthie) Wirgau of Rapid City, Catherine (Mark) Rygwelski of Gaylord, Linda (JK Eldred) Kleiber of Onaway; grandchildren Jeremiah (Joanna) Wirgau, Jesse (Julie) Kleiber, Kiel (Amy) Wirgau, Alicia (Rob Frantz) Kleiber; five great-grandchildren; a sister Ethelene Lewis and sister-in-law Marion Dove.

            She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin, mother Dorothy, and brother LeRoy.

            In keeping with her wishes, the family will remember Anna Mae privately.  She will be laid to rest at St. Peters Cemetery, in Metz.  Online condolences may be sent to www.hentkowskifuneral.com
