John W Belusar

John Walter Belusar of Alpena, formerly of Rogers City, went to his eternal reward in heaven on May 16, 2016, surrounded by his family.
John was born on December 9, 1952 to Joseph and Evangeline Belusar of Rogers City. He was a loving son, brother and uncle. John was the fourth child of eight and enjoyed an active childhood playing ball games, ice skating, bicycle riding and swimming. He was a graduate of St. Ignatius Catholic School and Rogers City High School.
Throughout his life, John enjoyed the outdoors, model trains, playing cards, reading about space exploration, bowling , playing pool, bingo , and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed the companionship of residents and staff of Tendercare of Alpena for many years. Although he was encumbered by physical limitations, he touched many lives. He was an inspiration to those who knew him.
John is survived by two brothers; Joseph (Nancy) of Sterling Heights and Mark of Rogers City and four sisters; Rose (Art) Bronikowski of Posen, Barbara Johnson of Brevard, North Carolina, Paula (Craig) MacNeill of Alpena and Valerie (Tim) Peacock of Rogers City. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Rob (Sue), Tracey, Tim (Jen) Belusar, Chris (Christine), David (Tiffany), Jason (Karin), Patrick Bronikowski, Hunter and Taylor Johnson, Jessica (DJ) Szymoniak, Nichole (Jason) Proctor, Troy and Lily Belusar, Curtis, Daniel (Emily) and Pamela Merrill, and Matthew (Jessica), Chris and Erika Peacock, many great-nieces and great-nephews and aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded by his parents, Joseph and Evangeline Belusar, a brother, Chris Belusar, and a brother- in-law, Rocky Johnson.
Visitation will be at Hentkowski Funeral Home, Thursday May 19, 2016 at 6:00 pm, the Rosary will be recited at 6:45pm and a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11:00 am at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Metz, with Father Arthur Duchnowicz officiating. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
